Someone, somewhere has definitely got their finger on the fast forward button because time is simply flying by.
It already feels like the last two months didn't really happen. Which may partly be due to the fact that life was impossibly good for those eight weeks - think near permanent good weather, lazy beach afternoons, all the wine and eating out almost every night.
Cape Town was an incredible experience, living 6000 miles away from home. Being away for two months was long enough to settle into routines and favourite spots, while also being just short enough to justify the lifestyle as holiday-living.
But it's also great to be home. I missed being able to just walk to places, rather than waiting for an Uber if I wanted to do something. I actually missed proper home food, not just the basic things I'd make in our hospital accommodation on the nights I ate in.
Since getting back, I've loved spending time with my super-annoying little dog - taking her for long walks along the river in the rather British weather. I'm making up for lost time with baking too, continuing to practise my breadmaking skills with fresh loaves and rolls.
You might also have spotted some changes round here - I felt that it was time to give the blog a bit of a freshen up!
So what now? Well I officially finished university last Friday and I'm now on 'summer holiday' before work begins at the end of July. I've got an exciting European trip planned next month, visiting Milan, Budapest and a trip down the coast of Croatia. I'll hopefully be sharing this on the blog, as well as a few more South Africa posts so make sure you stick around!
It's good to be back :)
